About the Word to PDF
Converting Word to PDF turns an editable .docx file into a fixed PDF that looks the same on every device and cannot be easily edited. This tool reads your Word document and rebuilds its headings, paragraphs, lists, bold or italic text and images as a new PDF, entirely inside your browser - the document is never uploaded anywhere.
How to use the Word to PDF
- Choose or drop the Word (.docx) file you want to convert.
- Pick A4 or Letter page size.
- Click Convert to PDF and download the result.
Features
- Keeps headings, paragraphs and line breaks
- Keeps bullet and numbered lists
- Keeps bold and italic text
- Keeps images from the document
- Private - your document is never uploaded
What gets preserved, and what does not
Headings, paragraphs, line breaks, bulleted and numbered lists, bold and italic text, and most images are rebuilt in the PDF. Tables, multi-column layouts, text boxes, headers and footers, tracked changes, and exact fonts or precise positioning from the original Word document are not preserved - the result keeps the content and reading order rather than reproducing the page pixel for pixel.
Only .docx files are supported
This tool reads the modern Word format (.docx). The older .doc format used by Word 2003 and earlier is not supported; open it in Word and use "Save As" to create a .docx copy first.
Frequently asked questions
Will my Word document look exactly the same as a PDF?
Headings, paragraphs, lists, bold/italic text and images carry over, but tables, columns, text boxes and exact fonts or spacing are not preserved. For most letters, reports and articles the result reads very close to the original.
Does this work with .doc files?
No, only the modern .docx format. Older .doc files need to be saved as .docx in Word first.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole conversion runs in your browser using JavaScript, and the file never leaves your device.
What page size does the PDF use?
Choose A4 or Letter before converting; the content is laid out to fit the page you pick.
